Course Objectives

By the end of this course, students will:

  1. Discuss the history of international terrorism and its effects on the homeland security of the United States.
  2. Explain the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's mission and its 22 departments.
  3. Examine how first responders and local communities cooperate in securing our homeland security.

Survey of Homeland Security

Credit Hours: 3

Description: Overview of administrative, legislative, and operational entities developed for the protection of the United States. Includes an examination of roles of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, as well as the private sector in issues of homeland security.

Pre-requisites:Sophomore standing
